Where does it not? When does the problem appear? What is causing it? And what exactly should be changed in the next sample?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is the difference between simply <strong>making a shoe sample<\/strong> and actually <strong>developing a shoe for production<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Adult Footwear Requires Careful Fit Testing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adult footwear development involves more than increasing the length of an existing shoe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An adult shoe has to accommodate body weight, walking forces, heel impact, forefoot flexing, foot movement and significant differences in individual foot shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even two people who both wear EU 38 can have very different feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One may have a wider forefoot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another may have a higher instep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Someone else may have a narrow heel but a relatively wide ball area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For this reason, we evaluate more than shoe length.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depending on the project, we may consider:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Foot length<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Forefoot width<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ball girth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Instep girth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Toe room<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heel width and hold<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Arch position<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flex point<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Overall internal volume<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This becomes particularly important when developing an adult casual shoe that combines the appearance of a lifestyle shoe with some of the comfort and performance expectations of a sneaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stage 1: Static Fit Testing<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When a new fit sample is ready, we do not immediately ask the tester to walk for hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We first evaluate the shoe while standing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tester should ideally wear the type and thickness of socks that would normally be worn with the product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We then check several important areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Toe Room<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Are the toes touching the front?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is there enough functional space for natural movement without making the shoe unnecessarily long?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Toe room should be evaluated while standing under normal body weight, not only while sitting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Forefoot Width<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ball area is one of the most common sources of discomfort in adult footwear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We pay particular attention to pressure around the first and fifth metatarsal areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A comment such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cThe shoe feels tight.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">is not very useful for development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A much better comment would be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cThere is noticeable pressure on the outside of my right forefoot around the fifth metatarsal.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That gives the last maker and pattern technician something specific to investigate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instep Pressure<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes the length and forefoot width appear correct, but the shoe still feels tight across the top of the foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The problem may come from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Instep volume<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upper construction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lacing system<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tongue construction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foam thickness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Internal material thickness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Simply increasing the overall shoe size may not solve the actual problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Heel Fit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We also evaluate how securely the heel is held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Does the heel feel contained?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is the heel area too wide?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Does the collar feel secure without excessive pressure?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the heel already feels loose while standing, heel slippage will often become more noticeable once walking begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Record the Left and Right Foot Separately<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is easy to overlook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Human feet are rarely perfectly symmetrical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One foot may be slightly longer, wider or higher in the instep than the other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead of writing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cForefoot is tight.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">we prefer feedback such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Left foot: comfortable.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Right foot: slight pressure on the lateral forefoot.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This helps us determine whether we are looking at a genuine last or upper problem, or simply a natural difference between the tester&#8217;s feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Without this information, it is surprisingly easy to modify a last to solve an individual foot characteristic rather than a product problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stage 2: Walking Test<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A shoe that feels comfortable while standing may behave very differently in motion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the static fit is acceptable, we move to a controlled walking test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depending on the product, the tester may:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Walk normally<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Walk at a faster pace<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go up and down stairs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Change direction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stand for longer periods<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Squat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flex the forefoot naturally<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During this stage, we pay attention to several areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Heel Slippage<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Does the heel remain reasonably secure with each step?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the heel repeatedly lifts, we need to understand why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Possible causes may include overall shoe length, heel width, collar construction, topline shape or insufficient foot hold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The correct solution is not always to make the entire shoe smaller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Flex Point<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A shoe should flex in a position that works naturally with the foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the sole is too stiff or the flex point does not correspond well with the forefoot, the wearer may experience an unnatural walking motion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It can also create:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Unusual upper creasing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Forefoot the wearer&#8217;s feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Toe Contact During Movement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A shoe may have enough toe room while standing but still create contact during movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Walking quickly or going downstairs can cause the foot to move slightly forward inside the shoe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the toes repeatedly contact the front, we need to investigate the relationship between shoe length, heel hold and internal fit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Heel and Collar Rubbing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some rubbing problems do not appear immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first five minutes may feel completely normal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After 15 minutes, the wearer notices slight friction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After 30 minutes, the heel begins to feel uncomfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is why a five-minute fitting is rarely enough to properly evaluate a new adult shoe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why We Record Feedback at Different Times<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One useful approach is to record fit feedback at several intervals:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>0 minutes \u2192 15 minutes \u2192 30 minutes \u2192 60 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>0 minutes:<\/strong><br>Overall comfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>15 minutes:<\/strong><br>Slight pressure developing on the outside of the right forefoot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>30 minutes:<\/strong><br>Pressure becoming more noticeable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>60 minutes:<\/strong><br>Clear discomfort around the fifth metatarsal area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This tells us much more than:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cThe sample is uncomfortable.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It shows us that the problem develops under load and over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That information can influence whether we investigate the last, upper construction, material thickness or another component.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stage 3: Extended Wear Testing<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once a sample performs reasonably well during the initial walking test, we can move to longer wear testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depending on the shoe and development stage, the tester may wear the sample for several hours or for a significant part of a normal day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Afterwards, we inspect both the <strong>foot and the shoe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">On the foot, we look for:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Redness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pressure marks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heel irritation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Toe pressure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Localized rubbing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Persistent discomfort<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">On the shoe, we look for:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Abnormal upper creasing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heel deformation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Insole movement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excessive material stretching<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unusual outsole flexing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bonding issues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Changes in fit as the materials settle<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some footwear problems simply cannot be discovered by walking around a sample room for five minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A\/B Testing: Comparing Two Sample Versions<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most useful techniques during repeated sample development is direct A\/B comparison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Imagine we have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Version 7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Version 8<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If we only give the tester Version 8 and ask:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cDoes this feel better than the previous sample?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">the answer depends heavily on memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the tester wore Version 7 several days or weeks earlier, remembering a small difference of only a few millimeters can be difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, we can compare both versions directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Left foot \u2014 Version 7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Right foot \u2014 Version 8<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tester walks and records the differences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Which version has better forefoot comfort?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Which holds the heel more securely?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Which creates less instep pressure?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Which flexes more naturally?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We can then switch the shoes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Left foot \u2014 Version 8<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Right foot \u2014 Version 7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This helps reduce the influence of natural differences between the left and right feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For small last or upper adjustments, this type of comparison can be extremely useful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Do Not Develop a Last Around Only One Tester<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another important principle is to avoid relying entirely on one person&#8217;s feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Imagine one tester has an unusually wide forefoot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every round, the feedback is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cMake it wider.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The last is adjusted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tester tries it again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cStill slightly tight. Make it wider again.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eventually, the shoe may fit that individual perfectly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But it could now be too wide for the majority of the intended customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whenever possible, we prefer to evaluate the base size on several people with different foot characteristics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tester A \u2014 relatively standard foot<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tester B \u2014 slightly wider forefoot<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tester C \u2014 narrower foot or lower instep<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The objective is not to create one last that fits every person perfectly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is unrealistic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The objective is to determine whether the base last reasonably represents the target customer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Use a Consistent Fit Scoring System<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When several people are testing the same shoe, descriptions can become subjective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One person&#8217;s \u201ccomfortable\u201d may be another person&#8217;s \u201cacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A simple 1\u20135 scoring system can make feedback easier to compare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1 \u2014 Serious problem<\/strong><br>Significantly affects normal wear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2 \u2014 Noticeable problem<\/strong><br>Wearable, but revision is recommended before moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3 \u2014 Acceptable<\/strong><br>Functional, but there is still room for improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>4 \u2014 Good<\/strong><br>Comfortable with no significant fit problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>5 \u2014 Very good<\/strong><br>Fit and comfort meet or exceed the intended target.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We can separately score areas such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Toe room<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Forefoot width<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Instep comfort<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Arch position<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heel hold<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collar comfort<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Walking comfort<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flexing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Overall fit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The number itself is not the final answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its value comes from combining the score with detailed comments and the exact location of any pressure or discomfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Change One Variable at a Time Whenever Possible<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is one of the most important simultaneously change:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Forefoot width<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Instep girth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heel width<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upper pattern<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foam thickness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Insole thickness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next sample feels better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But now we have another problem:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Which modification actually improved the shoe?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We may not know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even worse, one adjustment may have solved one problem while quietly creating another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For this reason, we try to maintain a <strong>Sample Change Log<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 development, both are valuable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Repeated local fit testing allows us to move quickly through the development process:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Fit \u2192 identify problem \u2192 modify last\/upper \u2192 make another sample \u2192 test again<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This can reduce unnecessary international shipping, development time and repeated sample transportation costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, local testing should not completely replace customer testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Foot shapes, wearing habits, sock preferences, comfort expectations and target-market requirements can vary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For this reason, we see the two stages differently:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Local Testing = Development<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It achieve an excellent fit in EU 38.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That means:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>EU 38 base fit has been approved.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It does not automatically mean every other size is correct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next step is grading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Footwear grading is not simply adding the same amount of length to every size.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the size changes, the class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When Should You Commit to Expensive Outsole Tooling?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This production tooling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moving faster is not always the same as saving money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spending additional time on fit development can be far less expensive than discovering a fundamental problem after production tooling\u2014or thousands of pairs\u2014has already been completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr
